Sansui hi-fi serial number decoder
Find out when your Sansui equipment was made
This tool decodes the serial number from most vintage Sansui hi-fi separates to find the date of manufacture and give you a link to find its value. It works by first decoding the year and month digits from the serial number, that only reveals the last digit of the year so to pin down the decade it then looks to my large database of Sansui products and the approximate dates they were being manufactured. There are over a thousand products in my database and I am still adding dates into it, if you are returned a date which you think is wrong please get in contact so I can fine tune the date range for that item, likewise if your model is not found please get in touch. Without exact production dates there will always be grey areas so this should be considered a guide only. Start typing the model number until your full model name is shown in the list then select it, this ensures only valid date options are returned.
