Leica M-series camera serial number decoder
Find out when your Leica M-series camera was made
This tool allows you to enter your Leica M-series camera's serial number and get details such as the model, year and place of manufacture. The serial number on a Leica M camera can be found engraved on the top plate of the camera body, typically near the accessory shoe or on the camera's baseplate. This decoder covers M-series cameras from the M3 (1954) through to the MP (current production). For best results, also enter the model name (e.g., M3, M6, MP) which is engraved on the camera's top plate.
Tip: For most accurate results, include the model name (M3, M6, MP, etc.) which is engraved on your camera's top plate. If you're not sure, just enter the serial number to get a list of all possible models.
